BeastonBW.jpg The Dauphin County Coroner’s Office determined WNNK-FM (WINK 104) morning host John Beaston, 35, died Saturday of a massive heart attack, his co-host Denny Logan said today. Police found Beaston’s body in his Susquehanna Township apartment Monday morning after friends called to report that he didn’t show up for work or answer his door. Logan, who was Beaston’s long-time friend, said WINK 104 staff was stunned. Here’s what they said:
“(Beaston) was gregarious. There was nothing we couldn’t say to each other. He cared about other people. That’s what makes it so hard.”
– Denny Logan, “WINK Wake Up Show”
“I have worked with (Beaston) for many years and have always found him to be a terrific guy, always a warm smile and a quick joke, and among the most talented people I have ever had the honor to work with. His passing has come as a complete shock, and (is a) loss to our family, as well as the community. (He’ll) be greatly missed for many years to come.”
– Hollywood Heffelfinger, WINK radio host
“John was such a fun guy to work with in the mornings. The chemistry between us, Denny and Sue was amazing. John . . . kept things loose on the show and knew how to keep the listeners laughing. We lost a valuable member of the WINK family.”
– John Wilsbach, WINK Traffic
Hundreds of listeners have left messages on Beaston’s online memorial page.
